"Knight and Day" Not Cruise's Best

Apparently, this was supposed to be Tom Cruise's big comeback since his couch jumping days. It wasn't a bad film, it just wasn't the Cruise we remember and love. Also, Cameron Diaz should not be in a "damsel in distress" role because she's way to action packed to be passive. I would wait for DVD for this one, but if you decide to see it there are five reasons to go.

5) The exotic locations. From Austria to Spain the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

4) Cruise and Diaz have AMAZING bodies for their age.

3) The action is non-stop and fun.

2) Cruise may not be Mission Impossible good, but he still has his charming cocky moments.

1) The story is a fun carefree ride. It makes you want to drop everything and run away.

New Trailer for "Rango"

This looks fun! I'm surprised its not in 3D considering everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. This will be the first time Johnny Depp will voice an animal. I find it ironic that throughout the years Johnny Depp has been compared to a chameleon because he's constantly changing into different characters. Well, now he's the voice of a chameleon.

Trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"

Wow, this really looks good. I may actually enjoy it. What do you think?

New Poster for "Rango"

Johnny Depp will voice the lead character, who is a chameleon with an identity crisis. I believe the role will fit him perfectly. A new trailer will be posted tomorrow for the March 4, 2011 release.

Trailer for "Little Fockers"

I didn't laugh when I saw this trailer. It's probably because its the same old crap that Hollywood keeps regurgitating to try to make more money. The film is called Little Fockers and the kids were only in the trailer twice. It seems like its just more or Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro trying to get along with each other. Why didn't they stop after Meet the Parents?

Disney/Pixar Wins Again With "Toy Story 3"

If you're a moviegoer that has yet to experience an animated film because you believe its only for children, then you're missing out on some of the worlds greatest films.

After seeing this movie, I don't think my Barbies and My Little Ponies will ever leave the attic unless they can be with someone who will love them. Disney/Pixar continues their award winning streak with the final Toy Story. This film is an emotional rollercoaster for anyone who has ever had a toy they loved as a child.

The gang is back, but this time Andy is leaving for college. Instead of making it to the attic, the toys are accidentally donated to the evil Sunnyside Daycare. Who knew daycare could be hell for a toy? Eventually, Woody and friends realize they need to stick together and get back to Andy. Some of the new characters such as Ken, the Chatter Telephone, Lotso and the scary Doll Baby were all amazing. I don't want to give much away, but the film captures the beauty of the first two with plenty of comedy and even "oh no!" moments. It's also visually stunning in 3D. Disney/Pixar know how to create wonderful movies that will last for generations.

Plot Details for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"

If you don't want to know any of the plot details for the next "Pirates" then don't read below. Disney released a statement with more information on "P4." Personally, I think the film sounds amazing and I believe it will go back to its former roots before crazy special effects. To read the full press release check out Comingsoon.net. Here's what they had to say:

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise --this time in Disney Digital 3D(TM). In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love--or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard
or the woman from his past.

First Images from "Puss in Boots"

I'm really excited about this and I hope its good. The new cat in the picture is Kitty voiced by Salma Hayek. It's really nice to see cats portrayed in a better light these days. In the past, cats in films seemed to get a bad rap or were seen as lazy creatures. I believe Puss in Boots has opened new doors for cats in films.

First Photos from "The Rum Diary"

This must be Johnny Depp day. Here are the first photos from The Rum Diary. According to ComingSoon.net here's some info on the film so far.

Written/directed by Bruce Robinson and based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson, the film tells the increasingly unhinged story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Depp). Tiring of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, Kemp travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local San Juan newspaper, the San Juan Star, run by downtrodden editor Lotterman (Jenkins). Adopting the rum-soaked life of the late '50s version of Hemingway's "The Lost Generation," Paul soon becomes increasingly obsessed with Chenault (Heard), the wildly attractive Connecticut-born fiancee of Sanderson (Eckhart), a businessman involved in shady property development deals.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" Officially Begins Filming

Yes, I'm like a little kid on Christmas Day! For the next 11 months, I will be all over this movie! Anyway, Jerry Bruckheimer posted pictures via his Twitter account. The pictures include the new logo for the film and Rob Marshall arrviving to the set on a jet ski. I can't wait! What do you think?

"The Smurfs" Trailer

Is this really happening? No! That little annoying theme song is like a horror movie to me! Well, it looks like The Smurfs are coming to the big screen next year. What do you think?

"The A-Team" Gets An "A"

I remember the TV series, but just barely. I remember my brother calling me a "fool," the van and of course Mr. T's character B.A.. Otherwise, I went to see this movie with an open mind, probably more open than most fans and critics. I have to say, aside from some lousy special effects in some areas I really enjoyed the film.

This film worked because of the cast. Liam Neeson nailed the role of Hannibal. I don't know how good Hannibal was in the TV series, but I'm sure he wasn't as awesome as Neeson. As for B.A. played by Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, I thought he was great in the infamous Mr. T role. Some critics aren't feeling Jackson's take on B.A., but as I always say anytime someone decides to make an adaptation or remake a film it will always be different. Bradley Cooper ( Face) and Sharlto Copley (Murdock) both add plenty of comedic relief, especially crazy Murdock.

Another "A" plus for the film is its almost wholesome. In a world of bad ass boys having tons of sex, killing people in gruesome ways and cussing every five seconds, The A-Team changes those stereotypes. The film does not revolve around sex, cussing and bloodshed. I found it quite refreshing in a world of f-bombs and sex.

New Trailer for "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader"

This looks visually stunning and I'm sure it will be amazing in 3D. I hope its better than Prince Caspian. What do you think?

First Photo From "The Tourist"

Here's the first official picture from The Tourist starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. I just love Johnny when he has long hair. He's so sexy! According to ComingSoon.net:
The film revolves around Frank (Depp), an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise (Jolie) is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger.

"Transformers 3" News!

Well, here's some news on Transformers 3 that will make some fans happy and some sad. We already know that Megan Fox is gone and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is in. Of course Michael Bay has more shocking news for us. Let me know what you think.

IGN stated:

“This one really builds to a final crescendo,” Bay told USA Today. “It’s not three multiple endings… As a trilogy, it really ends. [The franchise] could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.”

The director also revealed who the villain is. Ready? It’s Shockwave, the one-eyed overseer of Cybertron whose toy turned into a wicked purple laser canon thing.

As for the plot? “The new film features Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime.”

Through this story, a mystery of sorts emerges, as TF3
centers around the “space race between Russia and the U.S.”, while implying that the Transformers played a hidden role in mankind’s first exploration of the galaxy.

And fanboys, try not to faint – but yes, despite initial
reluctance on Bay’s part, Transformers 3D is happening.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" Will Be Two Films

I figured this would happen. It makes sense, considering the final book is super long. It will be interesting to see how it turns out and how they plan to make two movies out of no action.

CinemaBlend stated:
Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice
and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The
TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

Geoffrey Rush Will Be In "Pirates 4"

I was surprised when I heard the news because I already thought Geoffrey Rush was going to be in the film from the get go. At Worlds End ended with the assumption that Jack and Barbosa would both be fighting for The Fountain of Youth. I'm excited to see that Mr. Gibbs will be back!

JoBlo stated:

Both Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom won’t be returning for the fourth film but Disney has just announced that Geoffrey Rush will return as Captain Barbosa. Rush will be one of only three actors, along with Johnny Depp and Kevin McNally (Gibbs), who will have appeared in all four films.

New Teaser for "Tangled"

Here's the new trailer for Disney's Tangled. It looks like a new twist on the Rapunzel story. What do you think?

"Sex in the City 2" Loses Its Sparkle

Yes ladies I'm sorry to report that the second Sex in the City does not match up to the TV series or the first movie.

First, its Sex in the City. There's hardly any sex and no city. We're taken to Abu Dhabi, which at first seems fun and exciting and then turns out to be a complete bore.

As usual each of the ladies have a storyline, but it seems as if the writers had to work extra hard to make something up. Their stories are bland and predicable. There was no reason to make a sequel because everyone's lives were perfect at the end of the first movie.

Here's a few examples:

Carrie's "moment" with Aidan didn't even make me worry. I figured out the ending.

Charlotte thinks she has something to worry about, but its just her mind.

Miranda makes a change in her life, but nothing mind-blowing.

Samantha is the same. I wanted something to shake up her life again.

So if the studio plans to make future sequels they had the opportunity to shake things up again, but they didn't.

Surprisingly, I did find something that I enjoyed throughout the film besides the fashion. The one thing Sex in the City is known for is presenting different traditions to women. The series lets women know that its okay to do or say certain things. I enjoyed Carrie's take on the tradition of marriage and the traditional ways of women in the Middle East. Every couple can have their own rules and even women under certain traditions can find ways to express themselves.

Recap of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

There are only two times out of the year I watch MTV and that is for the Movie Awards and the VMA's, otherwise the once amazing TV station is nothing but crap. So what happened at this year's movie awards?

1) Twilight won almost every award, which is not surprising.

2) Sandra Bullock was this year's MTV Generation Recipient. She was extremely funny clearing up rumors and kissing Scarlett Johansson.

3) Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell hanging from the ceiling picking on the poor boy from Harry Potter.

But the real surprise was Tom Cruise reprising his character Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder. No words can describe my new respect for Tom so just watch the recap.

Trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" From MTV Movie Awards

Here's the newest preview for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've never read the books, but this one looks better than the last film.

New "Eclipse" preview from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Here's another sneak peek at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse coming to theaters June 30!

"Eclipse" Featurette Introducing Bree Tanner

Bree Tanner is a minor character in Eclipse, but it seems with the release of Stephenie Meyer's novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner she will be taking on a bigger part in the film. Here's a first look a Bree Tanner played by Jodelle Ferland.

Dennis Hopper's Legacy

On May 29, Dennis Hopper, 74, passed away due to complications of prostate cancer. Another great actor gone, but leaves behind a legacy of films that will carry on for many generations.

Hopper is best known from 1969's Easy Rider starring along side Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson. The iconic images of the two men riding their motorcycles cross country as been drilled into cinematic history. Some may not know that Hopper directed and wrote the original screenplay for the film. The screenplay got nominated for an Oscar and Hopper also received The Golden Palm Nomination for Best First Work from the Cannes Film Festival.

The present genenation may remember Hopper from a little movie called Speed. Hopper knew how to play a villian. Even though many of his films were not blockbuster hits, he was an auteur and knew how play a character. He will be truely missed.

Please post your favorite Dennis Hopper memory.

"Fright Night" Remake Has Found Its Vampire

More remakes and more vampires for the future. Colin Farrell will play the lead role in the 1985 remake of Fright Night. Let's just face the facts. I'm losing hope for the horror genre. What do you think about this remake? For more info check out MTV Movies Blog.

There's something very inspirational and freeing about this movie. I'm looking forward to see what Julia Roberts can do in this leading role. What do you think?

New Trailer for "Morning Glory"

This actually looks good. I'm very excited to see Harrison Ford in a romantic comedy role for a change. What do you think?
