I can see this going two ways. Either Depp will run the show because he is the star vehicle for the "Pirates" franchise or he will decide to quit. Now if he runs the show, he will not answer to anyone and will make sure nothing changes to his character. If he decides to leave the franchise, it will be because he knows the film will not have the vision he imagined. As much as I want a forth "Pirates" I don't want it to suck. What Will Depp do about "Pirates 4?"
Dick Cook, studio chief for Disney, left the company without stating a reason for his sudden departure. Johnny Depp stated that he was "shocked and very sad" to hear about Cook leaving Disney. Cook was the one person who stood behind Depp when the company did not like the development of Captain Jack Sparrow. So where does this leave the next "Pirates?" Depp said that "there's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment. It was all born in that office."
