Monsters vs. Aliens is definitely worth the $24.50 that is required for a 3D film here in my hometown. Yes it's expensive, but the quality of seeing a 3D film is worth every dime. I have seen many 3D movies and I believe this is the best one so far. My reasons why are because the animation actually pops out of the screen. Some 3D films just look like they extend from the screen and nothing comes out at you. Well this one actually has the "reach out and grab" effect. This is probably one of DreamWorks best animated films since Shrek and Kung-Fu Panda. The cast of Monsters vs. Aliens are very refreshing. Animated films allow for a diverse set of actors and actresses to come together. It's not very often when Seth Rogen and Hugh Laurie are in a film together. The monsters Susan Murphy aka Ginormica (Reese Witherspoon), B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), Dr. Cockroach Ph. D (Hugh Laurie), The Missing Link (Will Arnett) and Insectosaurus are given the opportunity to have their freedom if they defeat the alien, Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson), from taking over the world.
This film allows children to have an imagination and for adults to laugh at the crude humor.
Monsters vs. Aliens receives four stars.
